Building the House

As excited as we are about this building purchase and the potential for God to bless our city with it, without the presence of God the building is just a building. We can't wait to see how God builds His house and extends His kingdom through our space!

Mosaic's new building will be a hub for our church family to worship God and love one another while simultaneously serving as a launching pad to reach our neighbors in Seattle and around the world. Mosaic’s impact will dramatically increase with a permanent home in the city. This space will increase our capacity to host worship services, reach our neighborhood with critical services and a family oriented space, and train up a generation to share the hope of Jesus globally.

In October 2016 we accomplished what seemed impossible. Mosaic purchased a building in Seattle! But we can’t accomplish the vision God has given us until we finish the necessary renovations and we need your help.

The building is 10,000 square ft on a major arterial road into downtown with over 76,000 cars passing it every day. It’s located in a diverse neighborhood with young families, singles, pillar community members, and those living in poverty and working in prostitution. This is a unique location where prosperity clashes with poverty.

While we are thrilled to be meeting in our space, we will still be completing renovations throughout the year. We are believing for the funds to make this space all that God wants it to be!

The Need

God has been so faithful to provide every step of the way. We are believing for 100% participation within our church family because every gift counts and we are in this together!

Purchase – $600,000 – 100% complete

In November of 2016 we closed on the purchase of our very first building. Through the generous donations of so many we raised $600,000 for the downpayment.

Renovations – $1.7 million – 100% complete

Essentially we needed to rebuild the whole structure and make significant additions to accomplish our goals. In conjuncture with a construction loan our renovation budget goal was $1.7 million. As of March 1st reached our renovation budget goal to complete the necessary renovations to receive our certificate of occupancy.

Finishes – $161,865.56 REMAINING

Upon moving into our new building we will begin finishing the space out with features and services that will bless our church family and the community. We will need to raise an additional $750,000 for things like: a new sound system, industrial kitchen appliances, rooftop deck, community room, signage and more.

Our Building Story

A team of 7 people moved to Seattle to plant a church that would change the world. Mosaic held our first public gathering in an apartment in Capital Hill.

We met in 13 different locations across Seattle for Sunday gatherings to worship Jesus and fellowship with one another.

2012 - 2018

Mosaic leased space at Emmanuel Bible Church's gymnasium seeing Jesus transform many lives in our community. God put a dream in our hearts to have a permanent space we can call home.

In a sellers market, and against all odds God opened the door for Mosaic to purchase our new church building at 7616 Aurora Ave N.

As fundraising continued we began demolition on a space that didn't resemble a public gathering place for a church to meet. In faith we continued this project despite challenges with the city and great financial need.

Construction began in March and despite a few delays the contractors have made great progress with concrete, beam work, framing and utilities. Our lease at Emmanuel ended and we've been mobile since August.

We have received our certificate of occupancy in the summer and we have moved into the space! We are continuing fundraising for the remaining finishes.

The local church is God's "Plan A" to reach the nations of the earth with His grace and love.

Pray with us for Seattle to be transformed. Pray for open doors with neighbors, the city, and the building process. Ask God how you can be part.

Give one time or monthly to partner with God in what He is doing in Mosaic.

Do you know someone who needs to hear about what God is doing in Seattle through Mosaic? You can help extend our reach to potential partners who want to be part!
